PROBLEMS -------- The purpose of this text file is to detail known problems (and their solutions) with the document list management system. Manual Installation Instructions -------------------------------- If you cannot install this application with the supplied "Setup" module, please use the following procedure to do so: 1) Create a folder where you want to install this application. 2) Extract DLMSxx.ZIP to the newly created folder. Do not use the contents of the folder from your failed installation attempt. The files in that folder can no longer be used (and may be deleted). 3) For each file that has an underscore ("_") as the last character of the extension, change the underscore to one of the following values: ex_ = exe hl_ = hlp tx_ = txt dl_ = dll 4) DocMan is now installed on your computer. This method of installation does not allow you to automatically uninstall this application, but you could do so manually by erasing the DocMan folder that you created in the first step. Removable Hard Disks -------------------- If you have a SyQuest EZ-135 Internal IDE Removable Hard Disk Cartridge, Windows 95 may generate a "drive x: not ready" or "not ready reading drive x:" message after inserting a cartridge into the drive while: a) the document list management system is present in the system tray -and- b) the AutoRemove feature is active The solution to this problem is to restart the computer. After you restart, immediately remove the cartridge and insert it again (before Windows 95 starts). To avoid this problem, do not use the AutoRemove feature or do not remove a cartridge while this application is present in the system tray. If you need to switch cartridges, terminate the document list management system while it is idle.
